The penultimate entry in my #CelebrateNovemberRain photo series finds us at that epic final performance, where the outro music gets super dark and super rocking, and Slash decides that he can’t quite deliver an Electric Guitar Solo of Righteousness while simply standing on the stage. Looking around, he notices that the lid of Axl’s piano is shut and thinks, “Hmmm, standing on that would give me the slight elevation I need to create an iconic image of where to take a song that’s already maxed out on awesome without making a Spinal Tap/’This goes to 11’ reference.”

Yes, playing both parts and Photoshopping them together is goofy, but the entire project is weird enough that that seems the least of my concerns.

Next week we finish up this photo series by recreating not just my favorite moment in this particular video, but my favorite in any music video ever.
