And so, as I hurl myself through a precariously built dessert, the #CelebrateNovemberRain project comes to a close*. I practically had no choice but to end my series with this iconic image, because what sort of Guns ‘N Roses tribute would this be without me plunging head-first into a cake? (FUN FACT: former MTV VJ Riki Rachtman is the guy who jumped through Axl’s dessert) Because wedding cakes cost about the same as one month’s rent, I opted to bake the thing myself. I saved a bunch of money AND MY HOUSE SMELLED ALL KINDS OF DELICIOUS.
Thus ends #CelebrateNovemberRain, my quest to pay homage to the most epic music video of all time (THRILLER WHO?). Things I gained from this experience: 1) An assortment of wigs. 2) baking skills. 3) the ability to Photoshop myself into a picture I’m already in (this will inevitably prove useful to me down the road). Most importantly, though, I learned there’s no project too stupid for me to get really excited about. Life’s too short to not dedicate your time to doing stuff like this.
*I’ve got a little wrap-up feature video coming tomorrow about this whole thing, complete with footage that shows just how ungraceful that jump ended up being.
